Distinguished Alumnus Ken Frank '74 spends day on campus

Each year, Poly alumni are asked submit nominations for the Distinguished Alumnus or Alumna award, which recognizes those who have made significant accomplishments in their career or have excelled in service to the community or to society in general. This year, the Alumni Association named Ken Frank '74 the 2013 Distinguished Alumnus and welcomed him and his father, Norm Frank, who taught math at Poly for 35 years, to campus last month.

Ken is the chief proprietor and recipient of a Michelin Star at La Toque, a landmark restaurant in the heart of downtown Napa. A quintessential wine country restaurant, La Toque was named one of the 20 best restaurants in America by Wine Spectator in March 2000, and more recently was named one of America’s Best Top 100 Wine Restaurants of 2011 in Wine Enthusiast.

Ken began his visiting day on the North Campus at breakfast with his father and former faculty and staff. He then attended a Literature class and the Upper School Morning Meeting, was interviewed by The Paw Print, toured through the Poly Archives, and enjoyed lunch wtih students interested in French and the culinary arts. Later that evening, a special dinner was held in Ken's honor with fellow classmates, family, Alumni Board members, Debbie Reed, and friends.
