From outdoor education trips and interscholastic athletics to service projects and artistic performances, Poly students develop a strong sense of self and of one’s responsibility in the greater community.

  • Advising Program

    Poly's advisory program reflects a team approach to foster student well-being and academic success. Advisors meet with students twice a week and work closely with grade level deans, the dean of students, the learning services coordinator, the school psychologist, and the director of health services to support student progress.
  • All Student Board (ASB)

    ASB government serves as a link between the students and the faculty and staff. ASB keeps the students aware of school issues and administrative decisions, organizes various school functions such as dances and sales, serves as the coordinating body for school clubs, and promotes enthusiasm and participation for all aspects of student life.
  • Athletics

    Every Poly student can experience the enjoyment of being part of an athletic team and learn to value good sportsmanship, strong leadership, and interdependence.

  • Global Initiatives Program

    Through the Global Initiatives Program (GIP), Poly students become considerate, contributing, and connected global citizens. Globally oriented courses are offered at Poly and through Global Online Academy. Travel abroad opportunities focus on cultural immersion, service learning, and building partnerships with organizations around the world.
  • Outdoor Education

    Poly recognizes that significant learning can take place outside of a traditional classroom and has offered extensive Outdoor Education experiences to its students since the 1970s. The Outdoor Education program reinforces the school's mission by taking students out of their familiar environments and exposing them to outdoor adventures.
  • Student Clubs and Initiatives

    The Upper School years are marked by transformative experiences and important milestones beyond the classroom. From school trips and athletic competitions to service projects and artistic performances, students lean into every experience, learn from disappointments, and celebrate their successes.
  • Student Community Engagement

    While fulfilling their service requirement, students develop responsibility and understanding through community connections outside the school that align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. A majority of students remain involved through senior year by providing mentorship to underclassmen.

Exploring Academics on a Global Level

Poly is a member of the Global Online Academy (GOA), a consortium of independent schools around the world that provides online courses that diversify and deepen the student learning experience. GOA's mission is to reimagine learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society. Semester and year-long courses are taught by faculty of participating schools.
