Spend a night at the "Museum"

School is in full swing, so that means that the fall play has begun its steady march towards production. The play has been chosen: "Museum" by Tina Howe, a satire on the world of modern art. It has been cast: The 40 roles will be played by 12 Upper School actors. It has been designed: A set designed by Richard Sherrell will make the audience feel as if they are in a modern art gallery. And it has been blocked: Actors now know when and where to enter, where to move to, when and where to exit, when it’s time to switch costumes/characters, etc.

The month of October will be spent detailing the acting moments, memorizing lines, giving the piece its shape, distinguishing the multiple characters the actors must play, costuming, set painting, props fabrication, lighting design, and a myriad other tasks to be ready for production the second week in November.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10-12 in Garland Theatre. No tickets or reservations are required; admission is free. PLEASE NOTE: There is a little strong language in the play, so it is not appropriate for a younger audience.
