For our UN Day ’24 commemoration, we will partner with the UNA Pasadena to commemorate 75 years of the UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights). Our keynote speaker will be the renowned human rights activist, musician, and Cambodian genocide survivor Arn Chorn Pond. As the subject of the award-winning memoir Never Fall Down, the PBS documentary The Flute Player, and the founder of Cambodian Living Arts, Arn inspires change with incredible stories of hope, endurance, and survival through the power of music. Arn will tell us the riveting story of how music saved his life, about the role of the arts in transforming society in a broader scale, especially in post-conflict contexts, and how the re-emergence of arts in Cambodia can be a model for other countries. We will also honor the winners of the Pasadena UN Day video challenge and screen their films. We will also honor the Pasadena UN video challenge winners and screen their films.
