Poly’s Boys Varsity Soccer Three-Peat

On Tuesday, February 1, Poly’s Boys Varsity Soccer played cross-town rivals, Flintridge Prep’s Wolves. The Panthers went into this game with an overall record of 10-0-2, and 5-0-1 in the Prep League. The team understood the importance of this game. Despite their undefeated record, a loss could take away their chance to win Prep League Champions for the third consecutive year. So, the team entered the Glendale Sports Complex ready to take care of business.

Coach Dan Sheridan shared, “With a convincing 2-0 win that was not as close as the final score indicated, Poly Boys Varsity Soccer secured a third consecutive Prep League Championship. With a goal in both halves by James G. ’23 and a stifling defense led by senior goalkeeper Robbie M.-S. ’22, Poly comfortably cruised into the CIF playoffs with an undefeated record and the confidence of a team on the rise.”

Congrats to the team on their three-peat Prep League Champions title! They play one more, non-league game in the regular season to prepare them for the upcoming CIF playoffs. They will take on Glendale High School at Glendale on Friday, February 4 at 7 p.m.

Please stay tuned for CIF-SS playoff information. The boys soccer brackets will be released on February 8 at 9 a.m. on the CIF-SS website.
