PolyToday: Film History class

As part of a recent assessment in Film History class, students presented projects they created related to Early Cinema. One of the freshmen in the class built a kinematoscope, an early version of the film projector. As he shared with the class, the final version is representative of many failed attempts; this was not an easy project to create. Other projects created included recreating a deleted scene from Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid" (1921), in which a young mother contemplates suicide on Pasadena's "suicide bridge," and a recreation of the moon landing of a spaceship from Georges Melies 1902 stop-action film, "A Trip to the Moon."
