Covid Booster Clinic: October 6, 2023
Poly families and friends will have the opportunity to get the new COVID booster called SPIKEVAX (manufactured by Moderna) on Friday, October 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Vons Pharmacy will administer the booster in the Multi-Purpose room above Gamble Gym.
The updated vaccine targets a more recent variant of the virus than earlier vaccines and is recommended for everyone 6 months and older by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). You can get it regardless of any previous COVID-19 vaccinations. You can learn more about this new booster from the LA County Department of Public Health here.
If you have Kaiser insurance, Kaiser will not reimburse Vons Pharmacy (invoice cost is $160) for the new COVID booster. Please contact your Kaiser provider if you plan to get the booster.
Due to a shortage in supply, Vons Pharmacy can only bring 100 vaccines to the clinic, so please be sure to sign up soon. If additional appointments are available, we will offer appointments to your family members who are 12+ years old. The pediatric dosage is not yet available.
Please plan to bring the following to the clinic:
- Consent Form (Please print and complete.)
- Copy of your insurance card
