Do you have the chops to be a litigating attorney? In this course, students will perform the roles of prosecuting and defending attorneys as well as witnesses for the prosecution and defense. This class is an introduction to the courtroom through the Constitutional Rights Foundations' engaging Mock Trials for secondary students interested in the logic, procedure, writing, and drama of the issues embodied in cases of law. Students will gain a deeper understanding of our judicial system while developing their communication skills, their analytical abilities, and how to successfully work as a team. The focus of the course will be on student-centered activities in the competitive atmosphere of the mock trial.

These classes are being offered in both sessions of the Poly Summer program, and the cases used in each session will be different. Students may take this course in both sessions and not have to repeat any cases.
