On August 25 and 26, the Boys Varsity Water Polo program hosted the third annual Pasadena Poly Invitational at the Poly Aquatics Center and La Canada High School. The tournament consisted of eight schools playing for two days until a champion was announced.
Poly was crowned the winner for the first time in the brief history of the invitational. “Winning the third annual Pasadena Poly Invitational marks an excellent start for our team this year,” said Assistant Coach Ryan Rodriguez. “Through each game, the team was able to build on their established chemistry through practice and competition, allowing them to execute their game plan.”
Senior standouts Bobby H. ’24, Roy O. ’24, and Peter R. ’24 were critical contributors throughout all four games. Offensively, Bobby H.'s ability to hold position allowed Poly to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Defensively, Peter R. shut down the other team's top scorers, allowing players such as Roy O. to focus on an offensive effort.
The tournament was an excellent test for the Poly’s boys water polo teams as they look toward the remainder of the season. Go Panthers!
