Dario S. ’23 Honored as Young Legislator and PWP Scholarship
Dario S. ’23 has been honored with two awards. He was selected for the 2023 Young Legislators Program. Now in its eighth year, the Young Legislators Program is a no-cost opportunity that offers high school seniors in the 41st Assembly District a front-row seat to the public policy and political arena. During the six-month program, students meet once a month at selected venues throughout the assembly district to develop their leadership skills and learn about the legislative process, public policy, and quality of life issues that impact the lives of Californians. The 2023 participants will conclude the program in June with a trip to Sacramento, where they will experience first-hand an Assembly Floor Session and a Policy Committee Hearing.
He was also awarded a scholarship from Pasadena Water and Power. Dario scored first place, receiving a full score from all of PWP's judges for his outstanding essay regarding the drought and possible solutions to protecting our long-term water supply. The competition was tough this year, and PWP received a number of incredible essays, but Dario’s entry stood out above the rest.
