College Counselors Lead California-Wide Campus Tours

Poly College Counselors Samantha Schreiber and Mark Rasic took 12 students on a California-wide college tour this past spring break. The excursion started with a flight to the Bay Area and a self-driven tour, executed by Sam and Mark, around the area, including UC Berkeley, Stanford, the University of San Francisco, and more, as well as down the coast stopping at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UC Santa Barbara. A downpour of rain didn’t stop the caravan as students suited up in ponchos and umbrellas, cheerily taking tours and roaming the ground of college campuses.

Students also had the opportunity to experience free time between tours to get a sense of nearby urban areas and college towns. Samantha shared the tour was particularly successful because students could see a large range of schools: from small to mid-size to large, public and private, religious and secular. The group also enjoyed some quality bonding time with long stretches in cars, with Samantha and students taking turns dj-ing music and swapping impressions of schools.
