On Wednesday, April 28 Poly’s track and field team competed against Chadwick School in a Prep League dual meet. Typically, a Prep League track meet hosts all of the schools that make up the Prep League, and runners fill the lanes as they race side-by-side. However, due to COVID restrictions, the format of the track meet had to be updated.
This track meet was only between two schools, Poly and Chadwick. Coach Thomas Sale, reflected on the meet saying, “It was great for the team to experience competition for the first time this season. Chadwick proved to be great hosts and we thank Coach Tyson Sacco and his staff for helping put this together.”
A handful of Poly’s athletes placed first or second in their events including Alessia C. ’21 placing 2nd in the 1600m (5:55.8) and first in the 800m (2:39.4), Henry P. ’23 placed second in the 1600m (4:53.6), Kai S. ’22 placed first in both the 100m (12.19) and the 200m (26.90), Charlotte A. ’22 placed second 200m (30.4), and Maja K. 23 finished first in the long jump (12-3).
