Boys Volleyball May Be Moving to the Spring

This week, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) announced that they have decided to move the boys volleyball season back to its traditional season in the spring from what it is now, in the fall.

The CIF received some criticism at the regional level from the CIF Southern Section in regards to this move. As a result, the CIF Southern Section decided to survey its schools, Poly included, to see if they would like to move boys volleyball to the spring or have it remain in the fall season. Poly’s Athletics department submitted its vote for pushing the boys volleyball season to the spring.

The CIF continues to collect votes from Southern Section schools until Wednesday, December 16. After that, they will make a decision about whether the Southern Section will hold the boys volleyball season in the fall or whether it will mirror CIF state and hold the boys volleyball season in the spring. The Poly Athletics department will monitor this decision and proceed accordingly.
