Kids can make a difference! Students will explore fun and exciting ways they can care for one another, their families, their community, and their environment. Caring Kids will include a variety of community outreach activities and projects, including a guest speaker, along the way. Based on a rich collection of service learning literature, the class will explore protecting an endangered species, conserving precious resources, caring for our community’s animals and the elderly, recycling, caring for our earth and even our nation’s veterans. From a visiting rescue dog or guide dog for the blind to baking cookies for the homeless, students will learn that small, selfless acts of kindness can make a huge difference, in our own community and beyond.

“A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

“One of the secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.” – Lewis Carroll
