Talking Trash- A STEAM Course 5-6

This course will explore the various impacts of pollution and human waste that have resulted in extreme climate change. Students will learn about the different environmental issues through storytelling, collaborative dialogue, and mini-projects to practice the 4 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rethink. The objective of the course is to promote environmental activism amongst youth by incorporating different elements of a STEAM curriculum and investigating different sustainable solutions for current environmental issues. Each week will focus on a different environmental biome that’s been impacted by climate change and pollution. Students will explore the different ways to combat climate change and create class projects centered around environmental awareness, activism, and preservation.
