Do you want to learn how to build and program your own mini-robot? Using Makeblock's "mBot", we will be guiding you through everything from assembling the robot, learning the basics of programming that robot with an easy to use visual coding "blocks"(using scratch-like blocks), and then testing and experimenting in your own space! No experience required, all you need is the mBot kit, access to a computer, and your curiosity!
This is a great starting place for any student interested in robotics, electrical engineering, coding, and even just creative problem solving. The students will have to tackle various problems ranging from programming their robot to avoid wall collisions using a distance sensor, track a line using a light sensor, and navigate through a homemade maze using multiple sensors in tandem. Links to videos will be sent so that students can follow along in their own time while instructor lectures, questions, feedback, and demonstrations will be done over Zoom. The purchasing of the robotics kit means that the robot is the students' to keep so their growth and learning can continue on after the course!
