Panthers tally up two more titles

The Panthers are rolling in the titles this season. Poly baseball and Poly softball added two more to the spring count, both clinching the title of Prep League champions. Poly baseball had a rough start to the season, but they were able to find their footing. They have an overall record of 16-7, 10-1 in league. They finish out their regular season today by hosting Rio Hondo Prep at 3:30 p.m. on the Ochari D’Aiello Baseball Field and hope to extend their eight-game winning streak to nine. The team will celebrate their three seniors this afternoon.

Poly softball concluded their regular season winning by forfeit against Firebaugh on Wednesday. Tuesday, they shut out Prep League rivals Flintridge Prep with a 16-0 win. The girls finished with an overall record of 15-7, 11-1 in league and earned the title of Prep League champions. The spring season finished with five Prep League titles. The baseball and softball teams will both be in the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs. Playoff draws for both teams will be released Monday, May 15. The games will be posted on the Athletic Calendar and can be found on www.cifss.org.
