Poly baseball's three-game streak; looking at the fourth

On Tuesday, Panther baseball hosted Prep League rival Flintridge Prep in their first meeting of the season. Poly entered this game coming off three shutouts in the previous five games. Last week, Poly hit the road to face Prep League opponent Firebaugh and defeated them in a 10-0 shutout. They then traveled to Claremont to face Webb, beating the Gauls 8-3. After consecutive road games, the Panthers were glad to be back on their home field. The Panthers had a rough start, trailing the Rebels 3-1 going into the fourth inning. They turned things around in the bottom of the fourth, bringing in four runs. Junior Ty Evans blew the game wide open in the bottom of the fifth hitting a grand slam and putting the Panthers up 10-3. The Rebels tried rallying back in the seventh but came up short. Poly defeated Prep 10-4. Poly has won eight of their last 10 games. Now 5-1 in league, they will face Prep again under the lights of the Glendale Sports Complex at 7 p.m. Visit the Athletic Calendar for directions and details.
