Eureka! Fourth-graders celebrate California's history

As the school year came to a close, Poly's fourth-graders' study of California's history culminated in a fun-filled morning hosted by parents, followed by a feast with foods from California's history. Students rotated through various stations featuring preparations of a meal that '49ers might have eaten, while others enjoyed a lesson from a cowhand, an activity featuring tin smiths, a hoop and frisbee game, making corn husk dolls, and a station about Hollywood where students made their own voiceovers for an existing movie trailer (oh, the magic of Hollywood!). After lunch, students square-danced in Grace Henley Courtyard.
