Creative Short Fiction Class Equips New Generation of Writers

Serra Leroy’s Creative Short Fiction class wrapped up in mid-January, but memories created from the class continue on! To cap off their semester work, the class read some of their work to a parent audience in January on a Sunday afternoon. The class hosted a reception in the Upper School Library with light refreshments thanks to our wonderful Operations staff, and each student read one of their fiction pieces to the entire group. There were around 40 adults in attendance in addition to classmates.

The class also spoke to renowned author and Poly parent Sarah Shun-lien Bynum during the following class session. During that time, they got to talk about the process that one writer goes through as she works through stories and novels. We are thrilled our students had the opportunity to craft original fiction in this class!
