A successful fall tailgate

Last weekend, the Panthers hosted guests on the field, on the courts, and in the pool. The day kicked off with the 29th annual Poly Invitational volleyball tournament, during which the Varsity girls swept their opponents in pool play without dropping a single set. They finished pool play in first place and faced San Marino in the championship match, when each team split the first two sets forcing the decisive third set. There the two teams fought hard, but the Panthers fell 13-15. In the pool, the boys water polo teams hosted El Rancho High School. Both JV and Varsity teams defeated El Rancho; JV won 10-5, and Varsity finished 19-10. On Babcock Field, the Varsity football team hosted the Lancers from La Canada. The Panthers took an early lead and did not let up. By the end of the four quarters, the Panthers held them scoreless with a decisive score of 52-0.
