Poly track individuals with a strong finish

Poly’s track team sent three individuals to the 2018 CIF-SS track and field divisional championship finals at El Camino College on Saturday. It was a very exciting day for Poly track and field. Senior Jack Babcock competed in the 110 high hurdles and he finished eighth in CIF. This is exceptional since this was his first year competing on the track and field team. Sophomore Zoey Mao represented Poly in the girls high jump. Mao had a great performance with a new PR of 5’3”, finishing as the CIF runner-up, just barely missing the height of 5’5” and qualifying her for the Masters Meet. Senior Xian Shively was the big winner at the end of the day, finishing as the CIF champion in the boys 3200, beating the rest of the field by nearly 15 seconds. He ran the 14th best overall time and is an alternate for the Masters Meet. The Masters Meet will be held on Saturday, May 26, at El Camino College. Visit the CIF website for more details.
