Back to the Big Screen, is pleased to announce a special screening of the new documentary, Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry (2026). After the screening, there will be a panel discussion featuring key members of the crew including Producer Meg Cirillo, Archive Producer Shane Munguia, and Executive Producer, Emmy winner, and Poly parent, Victor Buhler (P ‘31, ‘34).

On the verge of his record-extending 4,000th career three-pointer, four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry reflects on the upbringing, mindset, and work ethic that have made him among the most legendary artists of our time. The film captures Curry leading up to and throughout one remarkable game, weaving together his generational artistry with perspectives from other innovative artists – including Viola Davis, Rick Rubin, Patti Smith and Jon Batiste – showcasing how his singular vision has permanently transformed the game of basketball. This state-of-the-art production utilized 21 IMAX-certified cameras to capture the urgency and emotion around this historic single day and single game.

From the global media company, Religion of Sports, invested in creating socially conscious documentaries exploring how great athletes achieve greatness in their own words, the film was produced alongside ESPN Films, Unanimous Media, the NBA, and IMAX. Previously shown as a limited release in select IMAX theaters this fall, please join the Poly community when the documentary has another occasion to grace the big screen in our own Garland Theater. This K-12 event will be inspiring to the artistic as well as the athletic.

In memory of the late PolyGlobal Director, Rick Caragher, Back to the Big Screen continues its year-long partnership with PolyGlobal for a series of cinematic programming of subjects resonating on a global scale worth considering where we are here and now.
