Poly Centennial Family Picnic

What a way to start the school year!
Babcock Field
What a way to start the school year! Over 1,000 members of the Poly community got together to sing Happy Birthday to Poly and enjoy each other's company. Revelers registered in the Gamble Gym and picked up pre-ordered boxed dinners and centennial blankets. Hand-dipped ice cream was very popular on this warm evening: "100 degrees for Poly's 100th," as one wag quipped.

In addition to food and socializing, music was provided by the Scheidemantle Family, including David, Cheryl (Poly's lower school strings instructor) and their children Sara '13, Kaela '15, and Luke '17, accompanied by Alan Geier on keyboards; and the Polymorphs, the faculty band, for which Mr. Geier serves as musical director. The Polymorphs are Tom Allard, Cynthia Crass, Clark Hansen, Rob Hayes, Celinda Pearson, Mariana Robles, Richard Sherrill, and Laurianne Williams.

Special thanks to Stephanie Fox Harvey '84 and Stephanie Neilson who organized the event.
