Ken Henderson Named Football Program Head

Ken Henderson has been named the Football Program Head at Polytechnic School.

Henderson, a standout football player at Kalamazoo College and a former Arena League player, began his career at Polytechnic in 2022 as an assistant on the football, basketball, and softball teams.

Prior to his tenure at Polytechnic, Henderson was the Head Football Coach at View Park Charter, leading the team to five CIF City Section titles in 16 years. Henderson also coached on the boys’ basketball and track & field teams, where he had multiple individual event winners in track & field and was part of a Division 4 state championship with the basketball team.

“We are excited to welcome Ken as our new Football Program Head,” said Scott Bello, Director of Athletics. “His knowledge of the sport, his infectious personality, and his drive to make Poly a winner, makes Ken the perfect fit for our program right now.”

“I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead as the head coach this year for the first time as a Poly Panther. I am looking forward to restoring the roar while bringing excitement and enthusiasm back to the Poly community through football. I’ve always said, ‘They don’t care how much you know unless they know how much you care.’”

Henderson began his work as the Football Program Head on June 12.
