Poly’s squad comes off a big win Monday afternoon against Prep League opponent Westridge School. The Panthers dominated the Tigers, outscoring them 5-2. They are led by new Head Coach Heidi Strauss. Heidi has been part of the program for 12 years as an assistant coach, but this season she has taken over as head coach with long-standing Assistant Coach Jamie Bell by her side. The staff welcomes new coach Andrea Otero to the team. The team is also led by four seniors and welcomed two new freshmen to the squad.

Wednesday’s game in the Rose Bowl is expected to be a tough match with the teams showing strengths on both sides of the ball. Senior Talulla S. ’21 shares, “Playing in the Rose Bowl is beyond exciting. The match will be challenging, but I am hopeful our team will rise to the occasion. We displayed good possession and teamwork in our first game yesterday.”

Coach Strauss adds, “I am so excited for the opportunity for our athletes to play in the historic and iconic Rose Bowl Stadium! We thank everyone who made this opportunity possible. We have a great group of athletes who have adapted and are taking all of the challenges of this situation in stride. We are thankful for the season.”
