Girls golf qualifies for league individual tournament
Yesterday Poly’s girls golf team competed at Alhambra Golf Course for the Prep League individual tournament prelims. Of the team of five, three girls scored well enough to qualify for the next round. Senior Chloe Cho scored a 52, the exact score needed to advance to the next round. Junior Taryn Kim shot a 45, and Sophomore Maddy Kwei shot a team best of 43, two over the leading score. The girls played well enough to get them to the next round, the Prep League individual championship tournament. The qualifiers will play a 18-hole round on Wednesday back at the Alhambra Golf Course to determine the league winner and for a chance to compete in the CIF individual tournament. Kwei will start the day for Poly with a noon tee time. Kim will follow just behind her with a 12:10 p.m. tee time, and Cho tees off at 12:30 p.m.
