Stories & Activities through STEAM 2-3
Teacher: April Ballinger
Session(s): 3 weeks/ Session 1 or 2
Days: Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 9 am - 10:30 am
Steam Stories is a live, interactive class that incorporates all the different STEAM topics at once: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. In the first 30-45 minutes, we will first read a short story and discuss. The instructor will demonstrate examples and ideas of the STEAM project. During the remaining hour, we will brainstorm and then create our own individual STEAM activity assignment inspired by what we have just read and discussed. Projects will be part art, part design, part engineering, and lots of imagination! Students should be able to begin and complete the project during class- if not, it is ok to finish on their own. Students will send a photo to the instructor with a short description of what they created.
No supply fee required. All projects can be made from regular household and office materials. Enrolled students will receive a supplies ideas list. This is a fun class for a creative kid who loves problem solving!
