Math Summer Review Grade 4

Fourth Grade Math Summer Prep is a course that will follow the instructional pathways of: learning, consolidating, and applying math concepts and skills. This summer math review experience will integrate problem solving and critical thinking, while focusing on developing automaticity of the basic math facts. It is designed to provide individualized practice, immediate feedback about progress, and set new goals for students as they master the math concepts of fourth grade. The lessons will include visual presentation, math practice and reinforcement, and collaborative learning activities and games.
The goal of each lesson is for students to develop a deeper understanding of math concepts, build confidence, and make real-life math connections. Within each lesson, instruction will follow concrete to pictorial to abstract sequencing. This course is suitable for students entering fourth grade and will reinforce the common core content standards.
Materials Needed: graph paper spiral notebook, protractor, deck of cards, five dice, digital pen (optional), printer, and technology to participate in virtual lessons.
