Two Polytechnic School students are among the young women recognized through the 2027 Pasadena Rose Court selection process. Elizabeth R. ’27 was named to the Rose Court, while Mia G. ’27 was selected as one of the Top 28 finalists.
Elizabeth is deeply involved in the Poly community. She founded and leads the club Panthers Forward and serves as head of literary magazine, The Polygraph. She also writes for school newspaper The Paw Print and participates in Moot Court and Student Ambassador Council. Beyond her leadership roles, Elizabeth is an active member of the Black Student Union and Girl Scouts and competes in cross country and flag football. She will also captain the track and field team this spring.
For Elizabeth, the Rose Court represents an opportunity to build on her commitment to leadership and service in her hometown.
“Having grown up attending the Rose Parade, I feel incredibly fortunate and excited to be included in a tradition that brings so many people together in Pasadena,” Elizabeth said. “For me, being on the Rose Court is an invitation to learn, serve, and share in the celebration of this community I adore.”
She looks forward to the ways this experience will enrich personal growth and deepen her passion for service.
“It is also an opportunity to grow as a leader by learning from my fellow Court members and mentors, whose wisdom I deeply admire,” she said. “Just as meaningfully, it means giving back, through enthusiastic and sincere service, to our community that has given me so much.”
Mia, who was selected as one of the Top 28 finalists, also reflected on the honor of participating in the selection process.
“Being selected as a finalist for such a valuable local tradition was an incredible honor,” Mia said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something that celebrates and empowers young women and empowers the community.”
Elizabeth and Mia’s recognition adds another chapter to their involvement in the Pasadena community, and Poly looks forward to celebrating Elizabeth throughout her Rose Court experience.
