Recent celebrations across campus brought music, movement, and color to the Poly community. Lower School students marked St. Patrick’s Day with the lively sound of bagpipes, learned an Irish jig from Poly alumni parents, and kindergarten students enjoyed an introduction to traditional Irish instruments from Danny H. ’18 and his father. In the Upper School, the South Asian Culture Club hosted a Holi celebration. Known as the “Festival of Colors,” Holi is a Hindu holiday celebrating the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. Students enjoyed samosas, henna, and the joyful tradition of tossing colorful Holi powder into the air.
