Poly is proud to share that three student community engagement organizations have been recognized by the UNA-USA Pasadena Chapter for their outstanding UN Day 2025 video submissions. Glean On Me led by Apollo W. ’27; NoteAble led by Lauren P. ’28; and Partnership for Success supported by Olivia D. ’28, Robert P. ’28, and Jack L. ’27; were all honored for videos that highlighted how their work supports specific UN Sustainable Development Goals. Each group received a $500 award, which they chose to donate to a nonprofit connected to their mission and values. Below, read reflections from the winning organizations and watch the award-winning videos.
This award unlocks the opportunity to give back to Pasadena communities that have continuously championed us. I hope that Partnership for Success is able to use this money to provide educational resources for every student who comes through the program, and, on behalf of Robert, Jack, and myself, I would like to thank Poly for giving us the opportunity to create an official Poly chapter of PFS. Because student-run clubs are such a key aspect of Poly student life, we have had the time and resources to involve the greater Poly community in Partnership for Success's mission. This award is a great honor, and we hope that through our continuous work with Partnership for Success we will see many opportunities like this in the future! —Olivia D. ’28
This is my second year as a mentor for Partnership For Success and my first year as an Ambassador for the program. I am grateful for the opportunity to support and mentor students in the Pasadena community. Winning this award was meaningful because it spotlighted an organization that supports under-resourced students. Poly has supported me by promoting community engagement and encouraging students to take on roles that make a direct impact. —Jack L. ’27
Receiving the UNA award is deeply meaningful to me. It affirms not only the creative vision behind my video but also the values it represents. This recognition has enabled me to make a deeper impact in my community. I’m planning on using the funds from my award to purchase instruments that I can use in my workshops. I’m especially grateful to Poly and Ms. Larios for the support that made this possible. Ms. Larios helped point me in the right direction and offered advice on what to include in the video, which made the project both stronger and more meaningful. —Lauren P. ’28
