Hooray for Polywood!
The Lower School’s end-of-the-year sing featured songs from movies. Lower School music teachers Joni Ellis and Laura Keverian-Pitts chose selections from Poor Little Rich Girl, The Sound of Music, The Muppet Movie and Mary Poppins, among others. Poly’s own Dad Band, comprised of Lower School fathers and two special faculty guests accompanied the singing. One of the songs, “You’ll Be in My Heart” from Tarzan was modified in tribute to retiring teachers - Mrs. Duwe, Mrs. Gantner and Mrs. Lewark. The crowd-pleasing finale involved the vocal talents of first grade through fifth grade as fifth grade danced and sang along to “Singing in the Rain,” a dance choreographed by Cindy Montoya.
