Emily Gifford fencing first

On Saturday, the epee fencers traveled to Victorville to compete in the first Scholastic Epee events where Emily Gifford placed first. On Sunday, fencers competed in the Junior Olympic qualifying events. Emily Gifford and Lauren Teague both qualified and will be fencing this summer. Coach Holmgren explained "Emily was the only Poly fencer to compete in the two tournaments, so both are significant achievements, and to have them happen on back to back days is impressive." Also, congratulations to Elly DeBreu who finished eighth overall in women's foil in the Scholastic League this year.
