Campus Plan Progress Report

Week two of work on the campus plan comes to a close today. The progress has been remarkable.
This week we watched the Stork Administration Building as it was carefully razed along with a good portion of the first grade and kindergarten buildings. The fact that the North Campus is hardly recognizable just two weeks into the project speaks to the detailed thought that has gone into the campus plan.

The crews have been deliberate in keeping the site organized: Lumber is being stacked and sorted, as is sheet metal and various other materials. Trucks have been quickly loaded with materials and sent out, and crews have worked to keep the environmental impact to an absolute minimum.

Meanwhile, progress continues on Building 19—formerly home to the Health Office and classrooms—as crews clear out the interior of the building in preparation for it to be relocated while the space for the new subterranean parking structure is excavated.

The Kressen Computer Lab's transformation continues: Interior walls are being erected to accommodate two fifth grade classrooms and the relocated Health Office.

Down on the South Campus, work continues in Garland to transform three classrooms into two generously-sized rooms.

We look forward to the next few weeks which will see the demolition, preparation, and renovation continue. Make sure to check back for the latest photos and news from the job site.
