  • PolySummer Illness Policy

A child with a temperature greater than 100º F is considered contagious and should not attend PolySummer. A child will be allowed to return to PolySummer once he or she has been fever-free for 24 hours without the assistance of Tylenol or Advil/Motrin. Other important reminders:
    • A child with vomiting or diarrhea must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to class.
    • A child who has a cold with excessive coughing, runny nose, and/or thickened nasal secretions is most likely still contagious. Children with these symptoms should be given the extra time to rest at home and recuperate.
Prevention is always best, so parents are asked to remind their children of these three important health tips:
    • Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
    • Cover your mouth and nose with tissues when sneezing and coughing.
    • Avoid sharing drinks, water bottles, silverware, and pencils.
Please remember to report your child’s illness to the PolySummer Office at 626-396-6387. Thank you.
  • PolySummer Allergy Policy

PolySummer recognizes the importance of keeping students with allergies safe and preventing both the ingestion of allergens and cross-contamination when using shared facilities and utensils. If you have a child with allergies enrolled in the cooking class, please note that the school cannot guarantee that recipes, facilities, and utensils will be free of gluten, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, and legumes. If you have a child with known food allergies, we ask that you please give careful consideration before enrolling in the class and contact the Director of Health Services Marcy Kwitny for further guidance.
