And they’re off: track and field in their first league competition

Poly’s track and field team will travel to Occidental College to compete in the Westridge Meet, where they will face Prep League opponents for the first time. The team is coming off of the heels of the Redondo Invitational last week, where they faced tough competition from much larger schools. This meet is also in preparation for next week’s Mayfield and Poly Meet on Tuesday, March 20, at South Pasadena High School. There is much anticipation this season as the girls return veteran sprinters, the boys long-distance team holds senior Xian Shivley, cross country’s Prep League champion, and the team welcomes back veteran throwers for both boys and girls.
