Alumni and friends return to campus for Alumni and Reunion Weekend

On April 27-29, nearly 400 alumni and guests returned to campus to celebrate Alumni and Reunion Weekend. “The Future of Medicine” was the topic of the Alumni Roundtable at Caltech on Thursday, featuring Sasha Kamb ’76, Shannon Thyne ’85, and Bill Jameson ’82 and moderated by John Horn ’78. Friday started with Upper School classroom visits before the 100th anniversary of the Poly Pet and Hobby Show. On Friday evening, the Class of ’67 was inducted into the 50-Year Club, which includes alumni who graduated from Poly 50 years ago or more. Guests took tours of the North Campus led by current students, listened intently as Molly H. ’21 presented her winning eighth-grade speech, and heard about school life from faculty member Dr. Robert Farrar, current parent Lori MacPherson ’85, and Head of School John Bracker.

On Saturday afternoon, the annual Alumni Family Picnic on campus featured arts and crafts, barbecue, ice cream, and campus tours. The festivities continued in the evening, as the 15- through 50-year reunion classes gathered on Arden Lawn for a reception and class photos before their separate class dinners. The Class of ’92 took home the Willis Stork Award for highest participation in the Poly Fund with 40 percent, and the Class of ’87 took home the Gosney Cup for highest dollar amount raised for the Poly Fund with $30,428.

It was great to see so many alumniparents of alumni, and former faculty back on campus catching up and enjoying the time together. Thank you to all who attended! Please enjoy a slideshow of the weekend’s events. A special thanks to the 2017 reunion committees whose incredible efforts throughout the year made the weekend a success.
