Back-to-back wins for softball

Last week, Poly softball faced two Prep League opponents. The game originally scheduled for Tuesday against Mayfield was moved to Wednesday due to the rain. The game was also moved to Poly’s home field. Because the game was moved, there were some schedule conflicts, and the Poly squad was down to exactly nine players as they faced a very talented Cubs squad. Poly led throughout most of the game and went into the final seventh inning up 4-0. Mayfield was far from finished. The Cubs rallied back and scored four to tie the game. It was the bottom of the seventh, and Poly was up to bat. With two outs, sophomore Tara Adarkar got the winning RBI, concluding a very exciting game with a score of 5-4 over Mayfield. The Panthers hit the home field again on Thursday hosting the Tigers from Westridge. This time, the game was a bit one-sided with the Panthers dominating for the majority of the game. After seven innings, the Panthers beat the Tigers 10-3. After Poly gets a week off for spring break, they will return next week with three home games lined up: Tuesday they face Firebaugh, Wednesday they take on LaSalle, and then they round out the week hosting Rio Hondo on Friday. Check the Athletic Calendar for the full schedule and details.
