Outstanding Swimming Results from CIF Finals

Last week, members of Poly’s Swimming and Diving team competed in the 2023 CIF-SS Swimming Finals. The boys competed in Division 2, while the girls competed in Division 3. The boys swam in the 200 freestyle relay as well as the 400 freestyle relay. Having moved up from Division 3 last season, the team knew it would be a tough competition. Despite that, the team still finished in eighth place in both relay races. Individual racer Michael M. ’24 finished in fifth place in the 50 freestyle. The girls' team stayed in Division 3 this season and found much success. They sent their 200 freestyle relay team and their 400 freestyle relay team. Both finished in fourth place with times of 1:43.74 and 3:50.47. Sophomore Julia P. ’25 also had two individual events she competed in. She swam in the 200 freestyle and finished fourth with a time of 1:54.84, and in the 100 freestyle where she finished third with a time of 52.68. Both of her times were fast enough for state consideration time. Congratulations to these individuals for admirable CIF Final finishes!
