Athletics Wraps Up The Spring Season With Prelims

This week three of Poly’s spring teams will compete in the prelims for their sports. Poly’s golf team kicks off the events Tuesday, May 2. They are sending two team members, sophomore Jerry F. ’25 and senior Julian H. ’23. Both qualified for league prelims with a season average score of 45 or less. They are headed to Brookside Golf Course for their chance to compete in the CIF finals. The top four scores will advance to CIF and the top six scores will be named to the all-league team. 

Poly’s badminton team is also competing in their league prelims on Tuesday, May 2. They are hosting League prelims in Poly’s Gamble Gym to fight for their chance to send individuals to CIF finals. The games start at 1 p.m.

Poly’s swim team will compete in the CIF-SS prelims to round out the week. After claiming the title of Prep League Champions for the third consecutive year, Poly’s boys team will compete in the CIF-SS Division 2 prelims. Those will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at Riverside Community College. The girls team finished their regular season in a strong third place behind two very stacked teams from Mayfield Senior and Flintridge Prep. The girls will be competing in the CIF-SS Division 3 prelims. The girls division 3 prelims will be held on Thursday, May 4 at Riverside Community College.
