Winning Streak for Girls Water Polo

Poly’s girls water polo team is showing its strength through the leadership of their two returning senior starters Liz F. ’23 and Xochitl O. ’23. Going into the winter break, the team racked up three straight wins starting December 2 versus Glendale High School. They took that momentum with them into the break as they competed in the Holiday in the Hills Varsity Girls Water Polo Tournament. There the Panthers faced four different opponents: Montclair High School (15-7), Upland High School (10-5), Sonora High School (15-14), and finished the tournament defeating Charter Oak High School (23-12) earning the Panthers the title of tournament champions.

The team returned to the pool after winter break without letting up on the gas. They faced league opponent Mayfield Senior School on Wednesday, January 4, and earned another victory defeating the Cubs 15-4. This win gives the Panthers their eighth consecutive win. The Panthers have an overall record of 9-3, 3-0 in the league as they enter the last month of their regular season. They hope to continue their winning streak as they take on the Lancers from La Salle High School on Friday, December 6 in the Poly Aquatic Center. The game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
