Big Week for Boys Water Polo

Last Friday, October 21, the Poly boys water polo team took on the Eagles from Brentwood in a league match up. It was an important game for the Panthers with their playoff bid riding on the match. The Panthers rose to the occasion by putting their best out in the water. After four quarters, it was the Panthers that came out with the big 9-5 win over the Eagles.

Coach Sean Grab says, “It was a big win for us against Brentwood. It’s always tough to travel and get a win there, especially under the pressure of a must-win situation. I am super proud of the boys’ performance, and I feel like we are peaking at the right time. We are in a super tough division, but I think we will surprise some teams and hopefully extend our season as long as possible.”

On Monday, October 24, the Panthers celebrated their three seniors, Rowan C. ’23, David L. ’23, and Nathan T. ’23 as they hosted the Spartans from La Cañada in their last home game of the season. Although the Panthers came up two goals short, they played hard, and the seniors still have the opportunity to extend their final season with postseason play.

The 2022 CIF-SS Division 3 Boys Water Polo playoff draw comes out this Saturday, October 29. Be on the lookout for information about their playoffs next week.
