GIP Event: Reza Aslan “Iran’s 100 Year Fight for Freedom”

December 8 at 6 p.m., location TBA
RSVP Required

Our next GIP event will feature Reza Aslan, a leading expert in world religions who is also an internationally renowned writer, professor, and an Emmy- and Peabody-nominated producer. His books, including his #1 New York Times Bestseller, Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth (over a million copies sold), have been translated into dozens of languages worldwide. He is a recipient of the prestigious James Joyce Award. He will talk about the Iranians' fight for freedom which dates back more than 100 years. Attendees will learn about modern Iran's first major revolution—the Constitutional Revolution—and how the subject of his latest book, a white Christian missionary from Nebraska named Howard Baskerville ended up becoming second-in-command to Iran's revolutionary lead at this historic time in Iranian history. After his presentation, he will be able to sign copies of his newest release An American Martyr in Persia: The Epic Life and Tragic Death of Howard Baskerville. They will also be available for purchase.
