Boys Water Polo Hosts SGV Tournament

For the first time, Poly’s Boys Varsity Water Polo team is hosting a tournament. Not only will this be the first of the SGV Boys Water Polo Invitational, but this tournament is also the only boys water polo tournament in the area. 

Similar format to the Girls Volleyball Invitational Tournament, there will be two four-team pools. Pool A will be played in Poly’s Aquatics Center, and Pool B will be played just down the road at South Pasadena High School. Joining Poly in Pool A are La Cañada High School, Hoover High School, and St. Francis High School. In Pool B joining South Pasadena are Flintridge Prep, Burroughs High School, and La Serna High School. 

Pool play begins at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 26 and final matches are scheduled for Sunday, August 27 at Poly. The two fourth-place teams will play at 2 p.m., the two third-place teams will play at 3 p.m., the two second-place teams will play at 4 p.m., and the championship match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
