Boys Volleyball Wraps Up League and Heads to Postseason

On April 19, the Boys Varsity Volleyball team wrapped up their league season by sweeping the Chadwick Dolphins in three straight sets. This season was the first time the program had a complete roster for both the JV and Varsity teams since 2020 when their season was cut short due to the pandemic.

Returning to the court this season was filled with anticipation. The program returned four players, all of whom only had a few weeks of Varsity volleyball experience under their belts. Three of the four returners are this season’s seniors. Under their leadership and experience, the team finished the league season at a solid .500 with a 4-4 record. They go into their final game of the season with an overall record of 10-7. They hope to tally one more win in a non-league match-up against Alhambra High School on Thursday, April 21 at 5 p.m. With it being their final game of the season, they will also celebrate and recognize their three seniors before the match begins.

Finishing third in the Prep League has earned the Panthers a chance to play in the postseason. This is the first time the program has extended its season since 2017. Now, they play the waiting game to see where they land in the brackets. A possible wildcard match could be played on Tuesday, April 26, and the first round is scheduled for Thursday, April 28. The 2022 CIF-SS Division 5 Boys Volleyball Bracket will be released on Monday, April 25. Stay tuned for more information.
