PolyToday: Eco Update

Seventh-grader Shane K. '27 recently wrote an Eco Update for the Middle School Sustainability Club. As Shane shared, "So far, we've diverted more than 2,701 pounds of food waste from the landfill, equaling 2,571 pounds of CO2 if we continue our efforts for a year. That amount is the same as 780 pounds of waste getting recycled instead of being landfilled." Poly also benefited from a Boy Scout community service project where members of Troop 5 came to campus two recent Saturdays. The Scouts mulched campus shrubs and trees with the finished compost and then, the next weekend, loaded the compost bins.
