PolyToday: Poly's Own Rose Parade

Some years ago, in the spirit of continually exploring and refining our practices, we began a new Poly tradition. In its fifth iteration, the kindergarten class planned and presented its annual Rose Parade the Friday before winter break. This project-based learning experience is a highlight of the kindergarten year. The Class of 2034 collaborated in small teams (Operations, Equestrian, Band, Floats, etc.) and prepared the event for weeks prior to the parade. In the past, parent volunteers assisted students with the design and construction of their projects, but this year, faculty and staff were pressed into action. Today's slideshow includes both the preparation and the actual parade—a fabulous send-off to winter break!
