Poly’s Equestrian Team Season Opener

On November 7, Poly’s equestrian team participated in their first competition of the season at Hansen Dam Horse Park. The team competes in the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) which includes various schools throughout the Los Angeles Area. This was the first of four competitions throughout the year.

The five-member team has three seniors, one freshman, and one sixth-grader. The team is unique from other Poly teams allowing students from the Middle and Upper Schools to compete together. In the previous year of competition, Poly finished in fifth place out of the 81 participating schools. In this season’s opening event, two members of the team represented Poly in the first show and continue to show their strength in the sport. Kennedy C. ’28, the newest team member, competed in dressage. Grace R. ’25 competed in Varsity Hunters and earned the title of champion. She also earned reserve champion in Varsity Equitation and won the Varsity medal class.

Congrats to Poly’s Equestrian team! We look forward to what the season brings in the shows to come.
