Girls Tennis is Undefeated Going into League

Poly’s Girls Varsity Tennis team has started the season strong thanks to the leadership of its four seniors. In their first four matches, they have outscored their opponents a total of 57-15. Their most recent victory was against the Temple City High School Rams.

Coach J.D. Gladden reports, “Senior Vanessa C. ’22 won all three matches, defeating their top player in an epic battle. Junior Sienna L. ’23 and ninth-grader Ava T. ’25 won all three sets at first doubles as well. Senior doubles duo Kate D. ’22 and Ella W-A ’22 easily defeated Temple City's second and third doubles teams, with Becca C '24 and Julia L ’25 following suit. Dylan L. '25 and Juliet L. '24 put forth outstanding performances as well, each defeating both Temple City's second and third singles players. Clemmie A. '23 and Margaret S. '22 also came out victorious on the doubles court, an all-the-more-awesome victory given that they accomplished it with feet clad in Converse. Congratulations to the Panthers for another impressive victory!”

The Panthers hope to take the momentum from these first four victories with them as they start league play against Prep League opponent, Flintridge Prep. The Panthers host the Wolves on their home courts at Caltech on Tuesday, September 14. Matches begin at 3:45 p.m. Good luck, Panthers!
